Osho Garden Pune
Osho Garden Pune is a Japanese style Zen Garden set up by Osho Ashram Pune (also known as Osho International Meditation Resort) in the year 1989. Before it was turned into a beautiful garden worth a stroll, it was just a piece of barren land with a sewage nullah running through it! The story goes that a Japanese environmental firm named Shunyo Foundation was invited by Osho Ashram Pune to turn around this dirty and barren wasteland into a beautiful garden.
Shunyo Foundation in its turn deployed Nihar, a landscape artist, to transform this wasteland. To cut a long story short, with the help of nearly fifty thousand truckloads of soil was dumped over this wasteland. Beautiful trees like Mangroves & Bamboo and flowers like Roses and Lotuses were planted. Water streams were created and stones were chiseled into fine shape. Now there is a chirping of birds among these trees, float of swans in its lake, and even fishes too. All in all, they turned it into a mini heaven. Thanks to Osho International Resort!
This beautiful place now attracts on average over thousand visitors per day.
